With the Smart Energy Systems Programme (SES), the Municipality of Rotterdam is offering support to businesses of up to EUR 100,000 for a feasibility study, experimental development or for a pilot of their smart plans in this area. Ideas that are most likely to receive financial support are ones that have a social impact, that have a strong relationship with Rotterdam, that are scalable and that are financially well thought-out.

In order to realise the plans from the Rotterdam Climate Accord and the Roadmap Next Economy, the Municipality of Rotterdam wants to accelerate the roll-out and upscaling of Smart Energy Systems innovations into commercial applications by supporting projects.

The programme focuses in particular on the implementation of innovations in the energy system that can flourish in the short term. An amount of EUR 1 million has been made available for a total of between 10 and 15 projects. Applications can once again be submitted from 2 March to 2 May 2021.
